The EOSC-CONNECT project holds its Kick-Off Meeting from 29 September - 1 October 2026 in Helsinki, Finland, hosted by the project coordinator, CSC - IT Center for Science (CSC).
The project officially starts in September 2026 and the Kick-Off Meeting will gather consortium partners to align on the next set of activities of the project. Following a welcome from Kimmo Koski (CSC), EOSC Association Board of Directors - Special Envoy for the EOSC Federation Bob Jones will present the state of play of the EOSC Federation and potential contribution from the INFRAEOSC 01-01 Projects. EOSC-Connect's Vvsion and objectives will then be presented by the EOSC Connect Coordinator Sara Garavelli (CSC). The meeting willsee presentations from the project's major workpackages followed by working breakouts on various areas of activity.
EOSC-CONNECT brings together 14 countries (Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland) with the ambition to expand, consolidate and advance the EOSC Federation in Europe by building and connecting independently managed sustainable National Nodes that are recognised as national entry points to the EOSC Federation; by addressing existing gaps regarding federating capabilities at technical, legal and organisational levels to simplify and advance the sharing of data and “costly” resources across countries and disciplines; by supporting the evolution of the EOSC Federation and increasing its adoption and thus demonstrating its tangible benefits and by championing the EOSC Federation within the European research community.
